The past couple of days have been filled with nothing but coverage of the two mass shootings that took place in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. Alongside those incidents is the other shooting incident that happened at the end of July at a Garlic Festival in California.
- Three were left dead and thirteen injured at the Gilroy Garlic Festival on July 28th, 2019. Unknown motive.
- Twenty-two people dead and twenty-four injured at a El Paso Walmart on August 3, 2019. Shooter was a far right extremist.
- Ten dead and fourteen others injured in Dayton, Ohio on August 4, 2019. Shooter was a far left extremist.
What is insane to point out is that all these shooters were under the age of 25, with the Gilroy shooter being only 19 years old. So what does this mean, does this mean that more and more young people in there twenties are contemplating committing mass atrocities. I would think so, it is good to point out that two of these individuals had extreme views, even the El Paso shooter apparently posted a manifesto to 8chan.com before doing gunning down twenty people. Whether he was influenced by Donald Trump is something that most Democrats are spurting out of there mouths as shameless attempts to garner political support over these tragedies is something I personally find disgraceful, but hey that’s politics for you.
This has to a mental health issue for sure, even if you don’t agree with that, take into consideration the fact that these gunmen were not trained by the military and only took it upon themselves to do something drastic instead of getting the help they needed. These are unhealthy domestic terrorists who will most likely inspire more bloodthirsty lunatics to commit copycat crimes all across this nation.
It’s only a matter of time before another one of these incidents occurs, and I doubt any real change will occur if more people voice there concern. The United States has an outstanding position on the sell and manufacture of weapons, for violence is ingrained into our culture whether you like it or not. There are people in this country who will fight to never have firearms be banned, I among them will never want stricter gun control, and also do believe that the defense companies who have the politicians in there back pockets will do everything in there power to stop most of the proposed legislation anyways.
So here we are again, only a couple more months until the year is over and we are in the same predicament until actual real security and order is established. I do hope something does happen to change these issues, but I just don’t see how.
