This article from nature discusses the interesting concept of CO2 fertilization, basically meaning the process by which plants take in carbon dioxide from the air through photosynthesis.
A dichotomy is discussed when it is shown in this study that an increased concentration of carbon in the atmosphere shows no correlation with the rate of carbon uptake in plants. This hampers the idea that climate change can be mitigated through the planting of more trees and other conservation efforts.
